Employer Relations Manager, School of Management
Position Summary
The Career Resource Center seeks an Employer Relations Manager to develop and maintain recruiting partnerships that maximize full-time, internship, and professional development opportunities for School of Management undergraduate and graduate students. This position fosters strategic, long-term relationships between the school, its students, and the business community.
Core responsibilities include developing and executing an annual employer relations strategy; cultivating new recruiting partnerships with targeted organizations locally, regionally, and nationally; and strengthening existing employer relationships. The Employer Relations Manager will assist employers in developing effective campus recruiting strategies and enhancing their presence within the School of Management.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Actively promote the School of Management and cultivate relationships with external stakeholders, including recruiters, hiring managers, alumni, advisory council members, professional associations, community organizations, and alliance schools.
- Track employer outreach, engagement activities, and outcomes. Prepare reports for stakeholders on partnership development, market trends, industry changes, employment opportunities, and employer feedback regarding student career readiness.
- Supervise the Recruitment and Program Coordinator in the planning and execution of recruiting and networking events, including career fairs, employer information sessions, and related programs (occasionally in evenings); collaborate on university and School of Management events.
- Collaborate with the University’s Career Design Center employer relations team to work with crossover employers.
- Travel locally, regionally, and nationally to develop employer partnerships and represent the UB School of Management.
- Utilize effective marketing and communication channels to ensure student awareness of CRC employer relations programs and events.
- Build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and students to stay informed about academic programs, initiatives, and accomplishments and their alignment with workforce needs.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues to develop and distribute employer-facing marketing and communication materials.
- Assist with responses to national surveys that impact rankings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in roles that focus on using advanced skills in relationship-building with all levels of internal and external constituencies.
- Results oriented; demonstrated ability to take initiative.
- Highly professional and customer service oriented; able to act with diplomacy and tact
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Strong project management skills, particularly related to planning and executing events and programs.
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and work in a team environment.
- Technological expertise in business management tools including spreadsheets, databases, LinkedIn, and presentation tools, as well as comfort with editing/updating web-based information and managing social media.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Knowledge of careers and industries typically sought after by management undergraduate and graduate level students/graduates.
- 5+ years of experience in human resources, recruiting, fund raising or related functions.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000
