The School of Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for the tenure/tenure-track Full Professor position for the Dean Emerita Rosemary Smith Endowed Professorship.
Named in honor of Dean Emerita Rosemary Smith, a national nursing leader who served UW Oshkosh with distinction for nearly four decades, this endowed role recognizes faculty who exemplify her legacy of scholarship, innovation, and leadership in nursing education.
The position offers dedicated funding for research and scholarly initiatives during the first five years and the opportunity to shape nursing education and research in a high-impact, academic environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Promotes mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of the University and the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
- Manages classes and learning environments, selects appropriate materials to support curriculum and provides constructive feedback to students.
- Delivers effective instruction using technology and a variety of techniques in a manner appropriate to the course objectives.
- Assesses student learning, designs assessments that measure student growth, aligns assessment with learning opportunities.
- Promotes continual improvement as part of the cycle of teaching and learning develops and revises curriculum and instructional materials as needed.
- Participate in processes related to recruitment, selection, admission, advising, and progression of students consistent with School of Nursing and Health Professions and University admission policies, option assessment, and accreditation processes.
- Pursues professional development, contributes to academic discipline through research, presentations, and publications.
- Participates in program resource development, including simulation and obtaining intramural and extramural program support.
- Participate in service through appropriate discipline-specific organizations, educational organizations, statewide boards/committees, or community activities.
- Serve on University and College committees as needed and as indicated in School of Nursing and Health Professions bylaws.
- Represent the University and the School of Nursing and Health Professions at professional activities at local, state, national, and international levels.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in nursing or in a nursing-related discipline from an accredited nursing program associated with a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- Demonstrated evidence of a consistent research trajectory with successful funding and a track record of scholarship and service
- Eligible for or currently licensed to practice nursing in the state of Wisconsin or able to obtain licensure by the start of appointment.
- Eligible for the rank of associate or full professor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh
- Certification by the National Board of Certification and recertification eligible for nursing area of expertise as applicable
- 5 years of college level teaching experience by the start of appointment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in the field of gerontological nursing and/or public health nursing
- Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration
- Experience with technology to promote wellness (e.g., smart devices, telehealth, VR, AI technologies)
