The position is designed to align with UH Health’s strategic initiatives addressing innovations in healthcare and healthcare delivery. This faculty member will help facilitate the evolving link between UH and HMAI for the purpose of designing, directing, and overseeing research projects that improve the teaching expertise provided by members of the UH College of Education, the UH Fertitta College of Medicine, the Houston Methodist Academic Institute, and other associated health professions Colleges at UH. The candidate should have demonstrated accomplishments as a national thought leader in healthcare innovation and in preparation of healthcare professionals. The chair holder must be a new hire recruited to the University for the position consistent with University policies. Finally, the candidate should have a demonstrated record of extensive external funding and ability to secure grants or lead interdisciplinary research projects.

Responsibilities.

Responsibilities include conducting innovative research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals; securing external funding to support an interdisciplinary program of research; teaching in graduate and undergraduate courses; mentoring students, chairing and serving on doctoral committees; affiliating and actively engaging with the College of Medicine and the Houston Methodist Academic Institute; presenting research at professional meetings; and participating in service to the Department, College, University, and profession.

Appointment.
