Energy Project Associate
Job Summary:
The Ralph Lowe Energy Institute (RLEI) at Texas Christian University Energy Project Associate will support ongoing applied energy projects. This role is designed to provide flexible support across a range of initiatives that connect academic research with real-world industry and policy challenges. The Energy Project Associate will work closely with RLEI leadership to contribute to project-based work that may include market analysis, technical research, stakeholder engagement, and development of strategic insights.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
- Supports applied research across energy-related projects, which may include oil and gas, power markets, emerging technologies, or resource management.
- Conducts background research, literature reviews, and data collection.
- Assists with analysis of technical, economic, and policy-related information.
- Contributes to development of reports, presentations, and internal deliverables.
- Supports coordination of project activities, including meetings and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including students, staff, and external partners.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate).
- Experience or interest in energy systems, business strategy, environmental management, or public policy.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Project management or research experience
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- None
Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:
- Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of energy systems, business strategy, environmental management, or public policy concepts.
- Knowledge of research methods, data collection, and analytical techniques.
- Skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
