Enforcement Officer 1
Job Summary
Performs duties to assist students, employees, patients, and visitors to park their vehicles in a safe and proper manner; includes monitoring and patrolling parking lots; identifying violators of parking rules and issuing citations; and directing customers to available parking areas.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patrol assigned areas for compliance with parking rules and regulations; issue warnings and/or citations as necessary and appropriate using hand-held electronic ticket writer; as required, use license plate recognition equipment for enforcement tasks.
- Operate and re-supply parking kiosks, gate arms, and other parking equipment. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting for equipment errors in conjunction with vendor technical support.
- Support special events and other campus activity specific to parking and traffic operations; place cones, barricades, and appropriate signage as necessary; provide traffic guidance in accordance with event plans.
- Install vehicle immobilization equipment in accordance with departmental procedure; respond to calls for reserved parking violations; assist in coordinating the towing and removal of vehicles from campus.
- Assist students, employees, patients, and visitors by disseminating parking information; provide daily reports regarding parking lot condition, noting estimated utilization, any necessary repairs, and other functions relating to lot/deck conditions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Must be 18 years of age.

Preferred Experience
Experience in a parking operation and knowledge of common parking operation practices.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Shift: Days/M-F
Pay Band: 1
Salary: Minimum $15.00/hour - $16.81/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Parking and Transportation implements the university's parking plan and manages vehicle registration, permit issuance, lot enforcement, fine collection, citation appeal, lot scheduling for special events, and guest parking permit issuance. We also provide campus shuttle services and bus charters for student organizations and university departments.
