Engagement and Alumni Relations, Senior Associate
Position Overview
The Knowlton School Engagement and Alumni Relations, Senior Associate is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive stewardship programming that engages the alumni and donors of the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture. This position may require some work during evenings and weekends, and occasional travel.
Alumni Engagement
The Engagement and Alumni Relations, Senior Associate works with the Knowlton School Director, Director of Development, Alumni Engagement and Operations Manager and the College of Engineering Advancement team and The Ohio State University Alumni Association to develop and enhance engagement and fundraising opportunities for Knowlton alumni and friends.
The position: Identifies and cultivates donor prospects from the schools alumni, friends and professional practitioner network; Assists in coordinating Knowlton annual giving initiatives; Supports the school's Office Associateship Program (OAP) by being a point of contact for participating firms and donors, soliciting renewals, creating and distributing OAP invoices, and tracking pledges; As liaison to the Knowlton School Alumni Society, advises the Society board and assists in meeting coordination and program implementation; Serves as the schools Alumni Relations Officer (ARO) to the Ohio State University Alumni Association; Generates gift acknowledgements and fund reports using The Advancement System (TAS) database; Collects data and conducts research in support of school advancement priorities; Coordinates with the Knowlton Communication Team on the development of print and digital assets for the schools alumni, friends and donors.
Advancement Events
Schedules, plans and executes all Knowlton School advancement events: Commencement, OAP receptions, alumni reunions, fundraising events, advisory council meetings, VIP donor events, and alumni receptions in Central Ohio and other markets; Manages the school's donor relations/events budget; Hires, trains and supervises student staff.
Career Services
Collaborates with school leadership and other staff to develop programming that supports career development for young alumni: Coordinates the Knowlton School Mentorship Program; Facilitates planning of the annual Knowlton School Career Fair; Assists in arranging mock interviews, internship postings, firm visits and similar programming.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience; 2-4 years of professional work experience in higher education, non-profit organizations or similar fields; event management experience
Desired Qualifications
Experience with donor and alumni relations, and experience working in higher education strongly desired; excellent writing and interpersonal skills
The target hiring range for this job profile is $51,500 - $67,250. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
