Engineering improved amylase performance
An industrially funded studentship is available in the research group of Regius Professor Graham Hutchings and Professor Stuart Taylor to work on amylase enzymes. A variety of strategies will be used to engineer an amylase for improved performance in selected industrial applications. The project will provide training in protein purification, assay development, protein library screening, and structure-based, computational approaches to protein engineering.
Academic criteria
We require applicants to have a 2.1 BSc or equivalent to be considered for PhD study.
