Jiangsu Maritime Institute, a renowned vocational college with a 70-year history of training exceptional maritime professionals, is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic ESL Teacher to join our team. Known as the “cradle of excellent shipping talents in P.R.China,” our institute provides a dynamic and supportive environment for both students and faculty.

Position Details

• Subject: Oral English
• Student Age: 16-18 years old
• Class Size: 30-50 students
• Class Hours: 16 classes per week (45 minutes per class), Monday to Friday. No weekend or evening hours.
• Contract: 1-3 years
• Start Date: To be discussed

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: Competitive, with a post-tax salary of over ¥10,000 per month, paid on the 10th of each month.
• Holidays: You will receive the same national statutory holidays as Chinese staff, with full pay during winter and summer breaks.
• Airfare: A round-trip airfare reimbursement of up to ¥15,000 is provided after one academic year. Alternatively, a subsidy of ¥10,000 is offered at the end of the contract if no airfare is needed.
• Travel Allowance: An annual travel allowance of ¥2,200 RMB.
• Medical: You will receive free medical services at the campus infirmary, a ¥600 medical insurance allowance, and reimbursement for off-campus medical expenses up to ¥500. The provided insurance is with Ping An Insurance Company.
• Housing: A single, on-campus apartment with paid utilities is provided.
• Visa: We will assist with the Z-visa application process.
• Logistics: Airport pickup in Nanjing is arranged upon your arrival.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification.
• Prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Native English speaker from the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
