Work content and job description
(Duties)
- Teach 10 koma (90 minutes each) of English language classes weekly. The range of courses to be taught includes skills-based and content-based ones at a variety of levels. Most of them are in the Program for Activating Global English (PAGE), an intensive English program designed for students preparing to study abroad. Some are standardized test preparation courses (e.g., IELTS and TOEFL) that will be taught during the semester breaks. Others may include science English courses and/or English courses in an interdisciplinary global education diploma program.
- Design and teach innovative courses with cross-cultural themes that incorporate Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL).
- Provide learner advising and other individualized guidance to students.
- Plan and conduct various activities and events in our self-access center, Konan Language LOFT, at the Okamoto campus.
- Perform other educational duties such as working collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum improvement projects, open campus, and being involved in the administration of exams.

Annual salary: 4 million yen - 6 million yen
Wages description: Based on Konan University regulations, the annual salary ranges between 4,500,000 and 6,000,000 yen. Actual base income for fiscal year 2026 was 5,400,000 yen. Modest allowances for educational research and housing costs are provided.

Contract period description: Non tenured, initial three-year contract, renewable for two, one-year contracts of up to five years by mutual agreement.
