English Instructor, Part-time Adjunct Pool - Online

Kern Community College District is seeking applications for part-time, hourly adjunct instructors in English and Reading courses.

Basic Function: This is a part-time adjunct pool. Applications are accepted continuously and remain active for up to two years. The role involves instruction in a full range of English and Reading courses, potentially including online, day, evening, weekend classes, and other modalities.

Representative Duties: Provide instruction in English and Reading courses; participate in student recruitment and articulation; maintain subject matter currency; develop and revise curriculum; use computer and multimedia technology; engage in departmental and college activities.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's in English, literature, comparative literature, or composition; or Bachelor's in the above and Master's in linguistics, TESL, speech, education with specialization in reading, creative writing, or journalism; or equivalent. Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Degrees must be from accredited institutions.
