The Humanities Department at UNM-Taos invites applications for a full-time, Open Rank Lecturer (II–III) position starting Spring 2026. This face-to-face faculty role includes teaching Enhanced Composition, Composition I & II, and Professional & Technical Communication, with an emphasis on contextualized learning, inclusive pedagogy, student support, and instructional innovation. As a rural Hispanic-Serving Institution, UNM-Taos offers a dynamic, community-centered environment where educators engage deeply with diverse learners. The position includes reassigned time to support student retention and academic initiatives across campus. Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in the discipline or subfield in which they are applying to teach
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in discipline or related field
- Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution
- Proficiency in teaching in a community college environment
- Experience in curriculum innovation for diverse learning styles
- Commitment to being part of a Professional Learning Community
- A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understand of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
- Demonstrated ability to work with students at a variety of academic levels
- Experience in developing courses and teaching in an online/hybrid environment
- Ability and credentials to teach a subject outside of English Composition
