Job Duties

English Language Teachers focusing on writing and academic speaking for undergraduates. Assignments vary, but all require 16 classroom hours per week, typically arranged on two or three days. Specific assignments vary, especially for the English Language Teachers, who are assigned to meet the needs of other academic departments. Additional service duties (requiring about two hours per week when classes are in session) may include conversation tutorials, participation in English Corner, or proofreading.

Qualifications

• BA or higher; better have a MA degree and one year’s teaching experience.
• TESOL, TESL, or TEFL certificates are preferred.
• Candidates must be committed to teaching excellence, comfortable in classrooms where English is spoken as a foreign language, and sensitive to intercultural exchange.

Salary and Benefits

• Compensation is 9,000 CNY per month before tax for BA degree holders, 10,500 CNY per month before tax for MA degree holders.
• Our university offers a furnished, on-campus apartment, reimburses foreign faculty for a proportion of airfare and visa fee, provides commercial health insurance.
• Faculty have access to exercise facilities (for a slight fee), and inexpensive meals (10-15 CNY) at campus canteens.
