About School of Foreign Languages, Huainan Normal University

The School of Foreign Languages, formerly known as the Department of Foreign Languages of Huainan Teachers College, was founded in 1978. It began enrolling undergraduates in 2000 and was renamed the School of Foreign Languages in 2015.

Currently, the school offers three undergraduate programs: English, Business English, and Translation, with a total of 1,120 full-time undergraduate students. It has four teaching units, namely the Department of English, the Department of Business English, the Department of Translation, and the College English Teaching Department.

The school has 95 in-service faculty and staff members, including 3 foreign teachers and 19 part-time teachers. Among the teaching staff, there are 5 professors, 24 associate professors, and 38 lecturers. In terms of educational background, 21 hold doctoral degrees, 5 are pursuing doctoral degrees, and 61 have master’s degrees.

Job Description

The role of a Foreign English teacher is to help our students speak English and improve English practical skills. Those responsibilities include preparing lessons and lesson material, teaching young adult students, holding counseling sessions, assisting colleagues, maintaining records, writing progress reports, etc. You will have up to 16 classes per week, each class for 45 minutes; there is no office hours required for this position.

Salary and Benefits

• 1. Salary: 8,000 – 10,000 RMB/month depending on professional qualifications and experiences
• 2. Vacation: Fully paid summer (about 2 months) and fully paid winter (about 1 month) vacation.
• 3. Travel Allowance: 1,100 RMB per semester.
• 4. Accommodation: Fully furnished apartment, with air-conditioner, TV, and free internet access.
