Enrollment Coordinator (Online Market Advising)
Position Summary
This is a non-exempt position that provides educational guidance and appropriate enrollment management services to prospective and current students to ensure their successful degree completion. This position actively advises and retains online and self-paced students for Upper Iowa University to help meet team and University retention and enrollment goals.
Position Responsibilities
Enrollment Services
- Assists active learners with scheduling of classes and updates degree plans, as needed, and informs learners of alternative means of receiving credit toward the degree (CLEP/DSST exams, portfolio method)
- Proactively identifies, advises, and counsels all students at risk of administrative withdrawal or course drops and stop-outs, ensuring that students are aware of the ramifications (e.g., financial aid, progress towards degree, etc.).
- Actively pursues enrollment management efforts to re-enroll stop-out learners.
- Advises prospective transfer students, using appropriate articulation worksheets.
- Advises prospective students about financial aid availability, loan options, veterans and total military family benefits, company tuition reimbursement, and other financial aid options.
- Works at a distance with various student populations, including, but not limited to, adult learners, incarcerated individuals, and the Total Military Family.
- Collaborates with other UIU team members on University-wide recruitment and retention initiatives, including, but not limited to: virtual events, orientations, and initiative working groups.
- Performs job duties and other tasks pursuant to current UIU policies and procedures.
- Maintains a working knowledge of current degree program policies, major content, and transferability of credits, including CLEP, ACE, and DSST.
Customer Service
- Ensures the University’s culture of superior customer service through example and encouragement.
- Maintains superior customer service as a competitive advantage.
- Professionally represents Upper Iowa University to internal and external customers, including students, prospective students, companies, organizations, partner schools, faculty and staff.
- Provides prompt responses to email, voice, text, and other mail to ensure timely follow-up and outstanding service to all customers.
Collaboration
- Promotes UIU by supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Additional duties as assigned in support of University objectives.
- Attends weekly staff meetings, ongoing trainings, and assists with events.
- Collaborates with other departments at the University to ensure student needs are met.
- Serves on University committees and teams as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication and writing skills.
- Knowledge of non-traditional, adult student learning theory and motivation.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evening hours and weekends.
- Willingness to travel.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional accomplishments that reflect self-motivation, initiative, independence, and strong customer service orientation.
