York College, founded in 1966, is a center of academic excellence in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. One of the eleven senior colleges in The City University of New York, the College’s mission is to enrich students' lives by fostering an environment where they’ll grow into passionate and engaged learners.

York’s academic programs are housed in three schools: The School of Arts & Sciences, The School of Business and Information Systems, and The School of Health Sciences and Professional Programs. Over sixty baccalaureate programs from across a variety of disciplines, including accounting, aviation management, business, computer science, journalism, social work, teacher education, a dual BS/MS degree in Occupational Therapy, and one of the top-ranked nursing programs in New York State, provide students with opportunities to study liberal arts, sciences, and professional programs. The College also offers six graduate programs: Aviation Management, Clinical Trials Management, Pharmaceutical Science and Business, Physician Assistant, Social Work and Nursing Education.

Located in Queens, the most ethnically diverse county in New York State, the College enrolls 7,000 students from over 95 nations. Nine out of ten students are members of a racial/ethnic minority group, and more than half of undergraduates are the first in their families to pursue higher education.

The College’s 50-acre campus encompasses seven buildings, including science and computer labs, music and television studios, a Performing Arts Center, and a Health and Physical Education Center. The College recently completed seven major construction projects, with more scheduled for the future. The Office of the Registrar is the official source for transfer credit evaluations of students enrolled at the College. The Enrollment Registrar Coordinator provides operational support for enrollment operations such as performing analytical and administrative duties to review and evaluate academic records and credentials. This position report to the Assistant Registrar.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, Enrollment Registrar Coordinator duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Reviews, evaluates and posts course equivalencies into CUNYfirst which includes, but not limited to; AP, IB, CLEP, A-Level, College Now and college courses both international and domestic.
  • Assist the team leader in communications planning for prospective and incoming transfer student, customer service and reporting.
  • Represents the department at College Open Houses, Orientations, Transfer Days and Special Events.
  • Assist at the Student Information Counter and Virtual Office; respond to students' inquiries and resolve them as they arise.
  • May serve on college committee(s) as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Registrar.
  • Evenings and Weekends may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred qualifications:

In addition, two years of experience in a Registrar/Admissions Office or higher education setting or technology management and/or related work experience in an academic institution is preferred.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with college departments and cross-functional teams.
  • Familiar or knowledgeable with transfer credit evaluation processing.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
  • Capacity to work efficiently and independently on multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends are required.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Provides operational support for registration operations.

  • Provides advice on academic and administrative registration requirements
  • Interprets and communicates academic, registration and enrollment policies and procedures
  • Assists with registration and provides information to prospective and enrolled students in registration and records-related areas
  • Complies, generates, and updates various reports, catalogs, and inventories
  • Maintains compliance with established record release procedures, including the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Collaborates with College and University offices to address inquires and concerns and resolve student registration and record problems
  • May participate in activities related to course scheduling and maintaining course databases
  • May monitor and revise the content of web pages and other communication materials
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
