Job Description

Job Summary:

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences Registrar's Office (FAS RO) supports the students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Harvard College, the Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Job-Specific Responsibilities:

The Enrollment Services Coordinator is a primary point of contact for FAS Registrar's Office constituents and serves as first line of customer service communication and principal source of information on student and faculty policy. The Coordinator provides high-quality service and contributes to the effective operation of the Registrar's Office, including supporting all areas of Enrollment Services: student registration and course enrollment, billing, graduation, Administrative Board and Honor Council vote processing, student form processing, and support for non-degree programs. This position independently manages complex student record updates, triages record changes across the Enrollment Services team and conducts audits to ensure the accuracy of student records. Work closely with Registrar partner offices including the Office of Undergraduate Education, the Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Academic Programs and Student Success, Dean of Students Office, the Office of the Secretary of the College, and academic departments on undergraduate and graduate student-related matters. The coordinator also manages student employees and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

3 to 5 years relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working in higher education administration.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong creative problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience using student information systems and/or relational databases.

  • Other Information: The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs and objectives and consistent with College Policy, which requires 5 days on-site in Cambridge, MA during term time (first day of classes through commencement), with the exception of winter break in December, spring break in March, and the summer months when students are away from campus, where staff is expected be on campus two days a week. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University's Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details about the College policy will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
