Position Summary
Perform general clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, filing, copying, scanning, preparing admission and program documents, maintaining student files, and supporting daily office operations.
Local Salary Schedule: $18/hour (Part-time up to 19 hrs/week) - Temporary
(Grant Funded, Not Eligible for Benefits and Non-Probationary Status)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a frontline representative and primary point of contact for prospective students, parents, participants, and community members by providing excellent customer service and timely communication.
- Receive, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls, emails, and walk-in visitors regarding admissions, enrollment procedures, residency requirements, summer program activities, schedules, deadlines, and college policies.
- Assist students with admissions and enrollment processes, including applications for admission, transcript submissions, residency documentation, account setup, and related student support services.
- Distribute program and admissions materials, including orientation packets, schedules, and required documentation.
- Monitor and respond professionally to student and parent questions, concerns, and requests for assistance.
- Maintain accurate records of communications, student interactions, and related documentation while safeguarding confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and institutional policies.
- Support recruitment, retention, and student engagement initiatives through timely follow-up and communication with prospective, admitted, and participating students.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management staff as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator or supervisor.
Qualifications
- Some College or Current College (preferably in your sophomore, junior, or senior year) with a strong academic record.
- Computer Skills: Good computer skills and use of technology associated with the work.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and relate to a diverse group of students.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, maintain schedules, and track attendance.
- Team Player: Able to collaborate well with other team members, faculty, and staff to ensure a positive experience for students.
- Positive Attitude and Approachability: Friendly, enthusiastic, and approachable demeanor to create a welcoming and supportive environment for incoming freshmen.

- Ability to interpret policies and procedures of the College and communicate to employees, advisors, etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student information and follow FERPA guidelines.
- Professionally represents the college at all times.
- Attentive to detail and displays organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn new things and apply that learning within the scope of the job.
- Willingness to maintain flexibility to meet the demands of the students and advisors.
