Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant, is seeking an Entry Laboratory Science Professional to plan and carry out experiments, analyze and interpret data, and aid in the publication of data. Research on the development of T cell-based immunotherapies for cancer will be conducted in an experimental (wet) lab.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other stakeholders to carry out laboratory and research functions.
  • Utilize a variety of laboratory techniques required for research projects.
  • Perform experiments to generate data in line with the research project.
  • Assist in the review and implementation of lab support policies, practices, and programs to meet organizational, operational, and management needs.

Work Location:

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related to biomedical sciences.
    Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis and may be considered as relevant experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or a related field.
  • Prior experience presenting at a professional conference or university symposium.
  • Prior experience or background within an experimental or wet lab (e.g., cell culture, CAR T cells synthesis and design rodent models, molecular biology techniques).

Condition of Employment:

  • Must be willing and able to pass national criminal and sex offender background checks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques, including safety procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of basic core concepts of biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and chemistry.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting hiring range for this position has been established as $47,811 to $60,816.

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
