Position Summary:
The Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Officer (EOHSO) ensures the overall safe condition of the institution while ensuring all employees are adequately trained and working in a safe environment; facilitates the Safety/Energy conservation committee and conducts injury investigations in accordance with the Worker's Compensation Act and OSHA standards; is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the institution's hazardous waste and MSDS programs; ensures that WOU and WOU contractors remain in compliance with OSHA and DEQ regulations; manages OSHA required safety programs; compiles reports for DEQ, Fire Marshals, and others relevant to compliance with regulations; completes quarterly fire/life safety inspections of all buildings on campus; performs ergonomic assessments upon request; is a member of EPT.
