Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Job Summary
This position manages the coordination and execution of EHS projects and other duties as assigned. Reporting to the Vice President of Facilities Services, the Environmental Health and Safety Manager will support the development of EHS policies and the implementation and administration of the College's Environmental Health and Safety Program.
Essential Responsibilities
- Occupational safety includes Hazardous Communications, Ergonomics, Bloodborne Pathogens, Respiratory Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR, Fire Safety, Fall Protection, and Forklift Training.
- Supports the development and administration of Environmental, Health and Safety policies, programs and training.
- Coordinates directly with end-users of chemicals, bio-wastes as to safe handling, labeling, storage and disposal.
- Maintains records and a database of employee training, medical examinations, licenses and certifications.
- Coordinates and delivers support and training for a wide range of Health and Safety concerns.
- Directs/Supervises campus safety inspections for all facilities and laboratories.
- Provides recommendations to managers and supports implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
- Manages the budget for the Environmental Health and Safety Department as well as the budget for ergonomics.
