Since 1966, the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center (EOC), a division of Hudson Valley Community College and part of the State University of New York, has offered tuition-free academic and workforce development opportunities to disadvantaged and educationally under-prepared individuals.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in English or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Three years related teaching experience in a field that demonstrates the ability to teach ESOL.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. HVCC does not sponsor Visa’s.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in TESOL, Linguistics, Bilingual Education preferred.
- The preferred applicant will also have Instructional experience, preferably with an ethnically diverse urban population.
- Ability to work with individuals in an enthusiastic and encouraging way; excellent oral and written communications skills.
The ESOL Instructor reports to the Associate Coordinator of Instructional Services and performs the following duties:
- Conducts classes in academic areas, including but not limited to ESOL I & II, & III Reading Preparation and Academic Preparation.
- Prepare all necessary reports.
- Meets with Associate Coordinator of Instructional Services or Counselor when necessary.
- Performs related duties as described in Faculty Handbook/Faculty Agreement.
The salary for this position is $49,000.00.
