Context:
Artificial Intelligence Supported and Welding Based Additive Manufacturing Technologies (ARIWAMT) Research Group in Yildiz Technical University (YTU) in Istanbul (Türkiye) seeks highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate candidates with strong academic background under Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Candidate will join ARIWAMT and pursue hands on and artificial intelligence based acitivities on robotic wire arc additive manufacturing of Ni-based alloys and be involved in mechanical and microstructural characterization. Candidate is also expected to be involved in other research acitivities of ARIWAMT research group such as creep resistant steels and high entropy alloys etc.

Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or related field
- Strong academic background on welding and additive manufacturing
- Hands on experience on welding robots and state-of-the-art welding machines
- Strong experience in 3D modeling and finite element analysis
- Project and/or publication based strong experience in artificial intelligence techniques such as deep learning and machine learning
- Advanced understanding of the methods used in scientific research
- Ability to work independently and proactively and also within a team of researchers
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
Eligibility criteria:
- The postdoctoral fellows must hold a doctoral degree (no longer than 8 years prior to the call deadline).
- Periods of inactivity in research (e.g., unemployment, periods of employment outside research, parental or sick leave) do not count towards the time of research experience.
- The postdoctoral fellow may be of any nationality. No age restrictions apply.
- The postdoctoral fellow cannot have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Turkey for more than 12 months in the three years prior to the call.
