Epileptologist
The Department of Neurology seeks an Epileptologist with fellowship training to join the Epilepsy Division, Department of Neurology, at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Must be BC/BE in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology or Epilepsy. Primary responsibilities include routine, ambulatory and continuous video-EEG interpretation, participation in epilepsy surgery evaluations, evaluation and management of epilepsy patients, and teaching of students, residents and fellows. The individual would join a group of 7 attending epileptologists, 3 epilepsy surgeons and 3 epilepsy/EEG fellows annually. The program includes a 6-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for noninvasive and invasive surgical and diagnostic evaluations, a busy critical care continuous EEG monitoring service, Outpatient Epilepsy Center with innovative programs including a Women's Epilepsy Program and First Seizure Clinic and a busy clinical and basic science research program. Opportunities are available to join or develop clinical and basic science research related to epilepsy and to participate in administrative or educational leadership and in program development.
Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.
Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate's experience.
Expected Salary Range: $218,861 to $280,000.
