BASIC PURPOSE:
The equipment manager is responsible for the oversight of all areas of the athletic department's primary equipment room operations supporting 26 NCAA Division II intercollegiate programs. Key responsibilities include inventory management, equipment repair, ensuring safety compliance, coordinating purchases with vendors, fitting gear and apparel, supervising staff, and managing budgets as a component of the college experience, which enhances and supports the students' liberal arts education.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervises the equipment room and its inventory to ensure the availability of equipment, supplies, and uniforms for the various athletic programs.
- Prepares and manages all aspects of the Athletic Department Operations & Equipment budget.
- Serves as the Event Manager for a variety of indoor and outdoor events to insure that the activities are carried out according to plan. This includes coordinating the necessary equipment, supplies, etc., and supervising the events, handling and solving problems.
- Directs and supervises the activities of professional and student staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring, and evaluating performance.
- Disseminates and collects all equipment and uniforms, ensuring, along with coaches and staff, an accounting of all items.
- Maintains and makes arrangements for the proper working order and condition of all equipment and uniforms, including performing minor repairs of athletics equipment and cleaning/laundering as necessary.
- Serves as the liaison between the Athletic Department and apparel vendors, as it relates to preview days, ordering, collecting, disseminating, and overall communication.
- Oversees the dissemination and collection of the keys to the Athletics Department vans.
- Regularly evaluates the cleanliness of a fleet of vans and makes arrangements for repairs of vans as necessary.
- Maintains an inventory record-keeping system to ensure an accurate computerized accounting of all athletics equipment and uniforms.
- Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes.
- Complies with policies and procedures set forth by Assumption University, the Northeast 10 Conference, and the NCAA.
- Position requires working weekends and nights.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
- Strong communication and public relations, management, and leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills in the areas of conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques;
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships by working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree /Master's preferred.
- Must have a current driver's license and meet the qualifications of an Assumption University Driver.

- Communicates regularly with students, parents, University personnel, high school coaches, NCAA, and Conference officials.
