Monday-Thursday 8:30AM-1:00PM (2 days a week of teaching)
Additional Duties
Provide assistance as required in program review processes and advising or monitoring of IEP students for issues of concern.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, TEFL, Applied Linguistics, English, English Education, Education, Language Teaching, or a closely related field required .
One to two years of experience teaching or tutoring English language learners.
Demonstrated commitment to communicative, student-centered language instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree and/or TESOL certification (or equivalent professional preparation) preferred .
Graduate students enrolled in a relevant graduate program are encouraged to apply.
Physical Demands
Regularly sits, stands, walks. Some possible bending over to see student work or for in-class discussion activities. See, hear, speak and use of hands.

Essential Functions
- Provide student-centered instruction in Intensive English Program ( IEP ) English as a Second Language/English for Special Purposes ( ESL / ESP ) courses during assigned class times, based on program needs and enrollment.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, classroom activities, and communicative language-learning opportunities aligned with the approved IEP curriculum, student learning outcomes, and project-based learning approach.
- Implement approved curriculum materials, instructional resources, assessments, and the University’s Canvas learning management system in coordination with IEP faculty and program staff.
- Administer and evaluate assignments, projects, exams, and other course assessments; maintain accurate student attendance, progress, and grade records.
- Maintain assigned Canvas course sites, including posting syllabi, course materials, assignments, announcements, and grades as appropriate.
- Provide students with timely feedback on their academic progress and communicate student concerns or support needs to appropriate program staff.
- Complete required course administration, including submitting progress and final grades, attendance records, and other required course documentation by established deadlines.
- Collaborate with IEP faculty and program staff to support curriculum implementation, consistency across courses, and student success.
- Attend required teacher meetings, program review activities, and other IEP activities associated with assigned teaching responsibilities.
- Communicate anticipated absences or schedule changes promptly and, when necessary, coordinate with the program supervisor to provide lesson plans or instructional materials for substitute instruction.
- Perform other instructional and course-related duties necessary to support the effective operation of the Intensive English Program.
