Estates Assistant
The role
Within our Campus department we are currently looking for a new enthusiastic and motivated Estates Assistant to join our team. The role is critical to the functioning of our estates and in ensuring that all students, visitors, and occupiers receive a professional service. You will be required to work both as part of a team and independently to meet the University's high standards.
What will you be doing?
You will primarily be working within the Biomedical Sciences Building but as part of Campus Operations, you will work in and learn different buildings across our estate. Estates Assistants undertake a broad range of responsibilities, including reception duties, delivering, sorting and collecting post, checking room bookings and performing compliance testing. You will also complete general manual handling tasks, including setting up rooms for meetings or events, removing rubbish where appropriate and ensuring building entrances and steps are clear and tidy.
You will deal with a wide range of enquiries from university staff, students, and members of the public, giving the most efficient and accurate help and advice in a friendly, calm, and welcoming manner. As the ‘face’ of the University, you will provide a positive experience to everyone you encounter.
You should apply if
You have previous experience in a customer-focused environment. You will be a people person who is positive, helpful, and caring.
You will have good IT skills, including using Outlook, Excel, and Word. In addition to your experience, you will have strong communication skills, including the ability to be polite, welcoming, and empathetic to all.

Additional information
Contract type: Open ended
Work pattern: Full time (35 hours)
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:00 - 15:00
