Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Circulation Desk Assistant is responsible for providing
customer service and guidance to library patrons. This position
works evening (Tuesday and Thursday, 3pm-8 pm) and weekend hours
(Saturday 9 am - 1pm) during the Fall semester, with the occasional
opportunity to work additional shifts as a substitute.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Register patrons in the CLAMS automated library system.
- Charge and discharge library materials to library patrons,
including items on reserve.
Assist patrons in the use of the photocopier and answer
directional questions.
Refer patrons to the Reference Desk.
Produce College student ID cards.
Shelve library materials.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Thorough knowledge of basic computer applications.
- Ability to pay strict attention to detail.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with the Koha library systems or other ILS.
- Experience working with diverse populations.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION : $20 per hour, 14 hours per week when classes
are in session. Part-time, non-benefited. Non-unit position.
