Job Description
The Evening Shift Maintenance Supervisor for the University of Missouri–Columbia is responsible for overseeing after-hours maintenance operations across campus, including troubleshooting, repairs, exterior lighting maintenance, and preventive maintenance activities. This position provides frontline leadership for evening shift staff and promotes a work environment centered on safety, service, quality, and productivity. The role also includes employee coaching, policy compliance, administrative oversight, and support for campus operations during the 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. shift, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise up to ten hourly maintenance employees during the evening shift by assigning work orders, providing direction, and supporting achievement of performance, quality, and service expectations.
- Complete administrative responsibilities associated with staff supervision, including timesheet review, work order management, use of computerized maintenance management systems, and compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive work environment during the evening shift.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for campus maintenance calls during the evening shift by assessing issues, responding appropriately, completing repairs when possible, and determining next steps when additional action is required.
- Oversee inspection, maintenance, and repair of exterior campus lighting to support campus safety and operational reliability.
- Interact professionally with faculty, staff, students, visitors, and campus partners while supporting a wide range of university departments, divisions, and special events.
- Inspect and maintain parking garage lighting systems and coordinate garage cleanliness needs as necessary.
- Perform special projects and other assigned duties that are most effectively completed during evening operating hours.

3:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
Must possess a valid driver’s license, which will allow legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri.
