Job Description
The Event Assistant supports the planning and execution of events within the LBJ Student Center by coordinating event setups, maintaining event furniture and equipment, and supervising the student event setup team. This position works closely with the Event Planning and Event Production teams to ensure spaces are prepared accurately, safely, and on time for a wide variety of events. The Event Assistant also provides customer service and on-site event support, assists with event technology and audiovisual needs, and helps maintain organized inventory and storage of event equipment.
Job Duties
This position is responsible for coordinating all event setups as well as the maintenance and planning of all event furniture managed by the LBJ Student Center (both in the LBJ Student Center and at other indoor and outdoor locations). This includes setting up and breaking down of event equipment, providing customer service as point person for the events setup processes, and coordinating logistics with the Event Planning team. This position is responsible for recruit, hire, train, supervise and schedule the student set-up team. Ensure student employees are properly trained on their positions, policies, and procedures of LBJSC and are staffed appropriately to accommodate all event setups for LBJSC events.
