Events Coordinator I
Under general direction, the ASCI performs and coordinates clerical and administrative work requiring specialized knowledge of operational, procedural/policies or projects. Day-to-day work is performed independently; work is supervised in terms of overall accomplishments; own priorities are often set. Assignments are varied and complex with longer work cycles involving coordinating, prioritizing and monitoring through completion; may provide support for an administrative head or small to medium group. Addresses a wide range of problems using reasoning and judgment; develops practical, thorough, and creative solutions. Contacts involve coordinating and working with individuals at all levels.
This is an intermediate-level clerical position requiring thorough and fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts/higher level/heightened sensitivity in a variety of organizational structures. Often involved in planning and coordinating work and/or providing lead work direction and/or training and assistance to coworkers on processes and procedures. Notable accountability for end results and work performed by others.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact and provide project support for CAL events; coordinating logistics, developing event quotes and timelines and ensuring compliance
- Communicating with multiple constituencies both internal and external to SDSU
- Administrative and analytical tasks such as, developing and maintaining event tracking documentation and managing data, and finances
- Participating in event related meetings
- Assisting with physical preparation of event spaces, setting up and breaking down event infrastructures
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 4-years of progressively responsible experience in an office or administrative environment
