Exchange Student Advisor and Operations Coordinator
Position Summary
The Office of Education Abroad at the University at Buffalo (UB) seeks a highly motivated and student-focused professional to serve as Exchange Student Advisor and Operations Coordinator. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and play a key role in advancing UB’s global engagement initiatives.
This position supports the coordination of inbound exchange and specialized programs while also contributing to the effective administration of Education Abroad operations.
As the Exchange Student Advisor and Operations Coordinator you will:
- Coordinate UB’s inbound exchange programs by liaising with international partner universities and campus stakeholders
- Serve as the primary advisor for students studying at UB under bilateral exchange agreements and other specialized partnerships.
- Support Education Abroad operational functions as Operations Coordinator, including student and course registration, course articulation, and the management of program and student data.
- Serve as the primary advisor for an assigned portfolio of outbound Education Abroad programs.
- Contribute to outreach and recruitment efforts, representing the Office of Education Abroad at promotional and outreach events.
- Support projects that further international education exchange and education abroad.
This is a full-time position which may include occasional evening or weekend hours as needed to meet the position’s professional obligation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of directly-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience should include previous direct international student programming and/or advisement responsibilities at a U.S. university or college.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as is an ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a wide variety of nations and cultures.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines simultaneously
- Strong computer skills, and an ability to manage data accurately and confidentially
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior study abroad participation or experience working internationally
- Master’s degree in international education or a related field
- Experience with program development and assessment
- Prior experience with Terra Dotta software or similar enrollment management software packages
- Familiarity with J1 and F1 visa processes
Salary Range: $57,151 - $62,000
