The Vice Chancellor’s and Registrar’s Office sits at the heart of University Administration and Services (UAS), supporting the University’s most senior leadership and enabling effective governance and strategic direction. The office plays a key role in advancing priorities within the People & Culture portfolio and coordinating decision-making across the collegiate University.

About the Role

This is a high-profile and fast-paced role providing proactive executive support to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (People & Culture). You will manage a complex diary, coordinate meetings and events, and arrange detailed UK and international travel. Using sound judgement and discretion, you will ensure the PVC’s time is prioritised effectively and emerging demands are anticipated.

Acting as a first point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders, you will handle confidential matters with tact and professionalism. You will draft correspondence and briefing materials, prepare presentations and speaking notes, take minutes, and track actions to ensure timely progress.

The role also includes maintaining efficient office systems, processing expenses and invoices, and building strong working relationships with senior colleagues across the University. This is a distinctive opportunity to support leadership at the highest level and contribute directly to the University’s People & Culture agenda.

About You

You will be professional, organised, and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a demanding environment. You will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience providing executive support to a senior leader.
  • Expertise in complex diary management and travel coordination.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to draft high-quality written materials.
  • Strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to reprioritise effectively.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
