Executive Director of Facilities Management
ROLE of the POSITION
The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership of diverse assigned facilities operational units at a leading R-1 research university and is a member of the department's senior leadership team. The Executive Director leads a management team overseeing Energy, Sustainability, and Compliance, Custodial Services, Landscape and Grounds, Project Management, and skilled Maintenance trades shop staff (inclusive of Carpentry, Paint, Electrical, Plumbing, Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC, Access Services, Fire Safety, and Night Technicians) at Maryland and Shadow Lane Campuses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management Sciences, or a related field from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and a minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in facilities management or related fields. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in management, business administration, engineering, architecture, sciences, or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred. Facilities management leadership experience at one or more academic higher educational institutions. Management or supervisory experience in healthcare, biotechnology, or health tech research institutions, and/or academic health center settings. Management or supervisory experience in one or more R-1 research institutions.
SALARY
Salary range is $150,000.00 to $180,000.00, or commensurate with the labor market.
