Executive Editor - Arte Publico Press

Coordinates all editorial operations for Arte Publico Press and the "Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage" project.

1. Coordinates all editorial operations for Arte Publico Press, including the work of outside editors, copyeditors and proofreaders.
2. Coordinates with authors, outside scholars and editors involved in creating anthologies and issues of The Americas Review magazine.
3. Executes creative and developmental editing of books.
4. Is responsible for quality control of all Arte Publico Press publications.
5. Functions as an acquisitions editor and provides leadership in developing new lines and products, such as children's and young adult literature.
6. Works closely with the production and marketing departments of Arte Publico Press; in conjunction with them, establishes and maintains publishing schedules.
7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience will be considered in lieu of education. Education will be considered in lieu of experience.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
