Executive Editor - Arte Publico Press
Coordinates all editorial operations for Arte Publico Press and the "Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage" project.
- Coordinates all editorial operations for Arte Publico Press, including the work of outside editors, copyeditors and proofreaders.
- Coordinates with authors, outside scholars and editors involved in creating anthologies and issues of The Americas Review magazine.
- Executes creative and developmental editing of books.
- Is responsible for quality control of all Arte Publico Press publications.
- Functions as an acquisitions editor and provides leadership in developing new lines and products, such as children's and young adult literature.
- Works closely with the production and marketing departments of Arte Publico Press; in conjunction with them, establishes and maintains publishing schedules.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience will be considered in lieu of education. Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
