The Westminster College School of Life and Health Sciences invites applications for an open-rank, tenure-track position in Exercise Science to begin June 2026. We seek a dynamic and innovative teacher-scholar to establish an exciting new program in exercise science at our institution and who is committed to excellence in undergraduate education and student-centered learning. The teaching load is three courses per semester (in person) and will include, in addition to courses supporting the exercise science major, courses in the core curriculum and first-year program. The College also expects research output in the relevant field of specialization.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish, maintain and expand an exercise science program at a small liberal arts college.
  • Teach a broad range of courses in exercise science, including Kinesiology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Methods.
  • Maintain an active program of scholarship that engages undergraduate students.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students pursuing exercise science majors, minors, and interdisciplinary programs.
  • Participate in service to the department, College, and broader academic community.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or a related field.
  • Experience with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accreditation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and inclusivity in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting.
  • Evidence of scholarly potential or productivity, specifically with undergraduate students.
  • Given the current political and fiscal climate, Westminster College does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visas currently. To be hired, applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
