Offer Description
for the appointment of one (1) candidate (m/f) to the professional position of Expert Advisor in the Science and Higher Education System, within the artistic area Fine Arts, artistic field Sculpture, indefinite-term employment contract, on a full-time basis.
General requirements for candidates applying for Position
Candidates applying for Position must meet the requirements prescribed by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No. 119/2022), the Statute of the University of Zagreb, the Statute of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb, and the Ordinance on the Internal Organisation of Positions and Job Classification of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb.
Additional requirements for candidates applying for Position
- completed university graduate study programme (Master degree) or an integrated undergraduate and graduate university study programme, or a university degree (VSS), in the artistic area Fine Arts, artistic field Sculpture;
- at least ten years of professional experience in the same or related positions in workshops operating in the relevant field and/or at least ten years of experience in artistic practice involving activities performed in workshops in the relevant field;
- positive performance evaluations by a supervisor during the aforementioned period;
- knowledge of computer use (MS Office);
- knowledge of spoken and written English;
- other requirements in accordance with the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, the Statute of the University of Zagreb, the Statute of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb, and the Ordinance on the Internal Organisation of Positions and Job Classification of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb.
DOCUMENTATION TO BE SUBMITTED BY CANDIDATES UNDER POSITION
- application for the position;
- curriculum vitae, accompanied by documentation confirming fulfilment of the requirements;
- positive performance evaluations by a supervisor for the period of employment in sculpture workshops;
- proof of citizenship (copy of an identity card, passport or certificate of citizenship);
- proof of the relevant academic degree;
- proof of employment history – electronic record of employment status (e-employment record);
- proof of proficiency in English (certificate issued by a foreign-language school or a copy of the first and relevant page of the student record book);
- proof of proficiency in Croatian (minimum level C1) – to be submitted only by applicants who are not Croatian citizens.

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 days from the date of publication of the Call for Applications in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia (Narodne novine).
OTHER INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES
APPLICATION
The application must state the candidate's personal information (full name, date and place of birth, residential address, telephone or mobile phone number) and the title of the position for which the candidate is applying. The application must be personally signed by the applicant.
An application shall be considered complete if it contains all information and documents specified in the public call for applications.
A person who has not submitted a timely and/or complete application, who does not meet the formal requirements set out in the public call for applications, or who has not submitted an application at all, shall not be considered a candidate.
Pursuant to Article 13 of the Gender Equality Act (Official Gazette Nos. 82/08 and 69/17), persons of both sexes may apply. Terms expressed in the masculine grammatical gender used in this Call for Applications shall be understood as gender-neutral and shall refer equally to male and female persons.
Candidates who submit their application in person shall submit documents in uncertified copies.
Before concluding an employment contract, the selected candidate shall be required to submit the documentation proving fulfilment of the required conditions in the original or in a certified copy.
Late and incomplete applications shall not be considered.
TESTING
If candidate testing forms part of the selection procedure for employment in a particular position, all candidates who meet all the general requirements of the call for applications and possess the knowledge and skills required for employment in the relevant position shall be invited to testing.
Testing shall consist of an assessment of knowledge, abilities and skills.
The content and method of testing, as well as the time and place of testing, shall be published on the official website of the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb (www.alu.unizg.hr, under Information / Calls for Applications) or communicated by e-mail to the e-mail address provided by the candidate in the application, at least three days before the testing takes place.
A candidate who does not attend the testing shall be deemed to have withdrawn their application to the public call for applications and shall no longer be considered a candidate.
INTERVIEW
If candidate testing forms part of the selection procedure for employment in a particular position, candidates who achieve at least 50% of the points in the written part of the test shall be invited to an oral interview.
If candidate testing does not form part of the selection procedure for employment in a particular position, candidates who meet all the general requirements and who, to the greatest extent, possess the knowledge and skills required for employment in the relevant position shall be invited to an oral interview.
Candidates shall be notified of the time and place of the interview by e-mail at least two days before the interview.
A candidate who does not attend the interview shall be deemed to have withdrawn their application to the public call for applications and shall no longer be considered a candidate.
RESULTS OF THE CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
Until the decision on appointment/selection is adopted, the Call for Applications may be cancelled without providing reasons.
The results of the public call for applications shall be published on the official website of the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb.
PRIORITY RIGHT IN EMPLOYMENT
Persons who are entitled to priority in employment under special regulations must invoke this right in their application and submit all documentation prescribed by the relevant legislation together with their application.
A candidate who may exercise the right to priority in employment in the civil/public service pursuant to Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Their Family Members (Official Gazette No. 121/17), Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (Official Gazette Nos. 33/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 2/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03 and 148/13), and Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette Nos. 157/13 – consolidated text, 152/14 and 39/18) must invoke the right to priority in employment in their application in relation to other candidates, provided that the candidates meet equal conditions.
A candidate invoking the right to priority in employment pursuant to Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Their Family Members must, in addition to the evidence demonstrating fulfilment of the required conditions, submit the evidence prescribed by Article 103, paragraph 1 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Their Family Members.

A candidate invoking the right to priority in employment pursuant to Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities must, in addition to the evidence demonstrating fulfilment of the required conditions, submit proof of their established status as a person with a disability.
OTHER
The Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, shall collect and further process personal data for the purpose of conducting the recruitment procedure, in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data.
Recruitment documentation and candidate data shall be retained for six months following the completion of the recruitment procedure, and for a longer period in the event of judicial or similar proceedings, in which case the documentation shall be retained until the conclusion of such proceedings.
Upon expiry of the retention period, the documentation shall be destroyed. Each candidate may collect their documentation upon expiry of the retention period.
