Exploring the role of Digital Twins in resilience and reliability of Intelligent 6G networks
About the Project
Digital Twin (DT) is a promising technology for the new immersive digital life with a variety of applications in areas such as Industry 4.0, aviation and healthcare. Pervasive realisation of DT requires higher data rates, reliability, resilience, and lower latency beyond what is currently offered by mobile networks. Thus, DT could become a major driver for 6G research and development. Additionally, 6G network development can benefit from DT and its powerful features such as remote intelligence. Using DT, a 6G network will have the opportunity to use Machine Learning to enhance its resilience. DT’s application in telecommunications is still in its infancy. In this project we investigate the role of DT in reliability and resilience of 6G networks.
The position will be primarily based at UoY
