About This Opportunity

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced nurses interested in working casually as Clinical Facilitators (Nursing) to support nursing students during their professional placements.

There are two immediate casual opportunities available for the upcoming semester, as well as opportunities to join a casual pool to support placements across a range of clinical settings as needs arise.

Immediate Opportunities:

  • Mater Redlands – up to 36.25 hours a week (Monday-Friday) for up to 12 weeks.
  • Redland Hospital and Springwood – up to 36.25 hours a week (Monday-Friday) from 2-6 weeks.

We’re also building a pool of Practice Educators to support placements across multiple sites, including aged care facilities and hospitals and health services ranging from Caboolture through to Logan. Locations will vary depending on student placement needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide clinical supervision and support assessment for students on placement, while monitoring student progression and supporting the achievement of required placement hours in line with accredited program requirements.
  • Assist students to integrate theory into clinical practice.
  • Liaise with placement providers and academic staff within the School.
  • Contribute to innovative placement models and student-led practice units, including simulation activities where appropriate.
  • Undertake administrative tasks related to placements and assessment.

About You

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, with a minimum of five years’ clinical experience relevant to supporting and supervising nursing students on placement.
  • Availability to work at least two weekdays per week.
  • Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including AM, PM and/or swing shifts (10am-6pm).

Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia, qualifications, professional registration (e.g. AHPRA), criminal history checks, and other role-specific requirements such as mandatory immunisations. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.

You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
