Facilities Assistant
Job Summary
The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering (ECEE) welcomes applications for a Facilities Assistant! This role will work with the Laboratory and Facilities Coordinator within ECEE in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, staging and moving furniture and equipment, supporting the property surplus/disposal process, issuing facilities work requests and following up on their completion, assisting with property inventory, and other miscellaneous facilities issues. This is a 50% appointment. This position will work fully on campus (no remote work possible), however flexible scheduling is available.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Facilities Assistant:
- Process facilities service requests as needed and follow-up on their completion, keeping collaborators advised of the status.
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment as necessary for various department spaces and purposes.
- Collaborate with the Facilities and Lab Coordinator to manage the storage facility.
- Prepare and process property disposals or surplus.
- Assist with property and equipment inventory control and reporting.
- Aid in securing equipment and peripherals to prevent theft (e.g., computer equipment in teaching labs).
- Support with the removal of locks on lockers and other storage items after students leave campus.
Meetings and Project Support:
- Attend facilities and other meetings, as appropriate.
- Assist with special projects, as needed.
