"Facilities Boiler Engineer"

Position Summary

Under the general direction of a supervisor, the High Pressure Boiler Technician performs complex-level tasks to ensure a safe, comfortable, and operational environment. This role is responsible for the uninterrupted operation of mechanical and utility systems, including high-pressure boilers and steam-driven turbines. The technician also supports indoor air quality and provides technical expertise to other staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate high-pressure boiler equipment and steam-driven or other turbines.
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair boiler systems and related equipment.
• Perform plumbing and steam fitting tasks as needed.
• Provide technical guidance to other staff and assist other trades.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
• Attend meetings, complete documentation, and deliver high-quality customer service.
• Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors via written, electronic, and verbal methods.
• Operate department vehicles and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience working with high-pressure boilers or Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer License
• Must possess a current State of Ohio Boiler License
• May require a valid State of Ohio drivers license.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push and pull up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Ability to climb and stand on ladders for extended periods.

Work Conditions

May work in hot, cold, dusty, or dirty environments for extended periods. May be required to work in cramped or confined spaces. Shift, hours, days, and/or location are subject to change based on operational needs in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
