As Facilities Assistant, you will provide removal, delivery and postal services across the University. Working independently and as part of a team, you will support campus operations, University events and ensure mail, parcels and resources are delivered safely and efficiently.
As Facilities Assistant you can expect to be involved in:
- Carrying out removal and delivery activities, including office furniture which may require dismantling and reassembling. Undertaking collections and deliveries on and off campus using University vehicles
- Supporting University events, including open days, arrivals and departure weekends, delivering, setting up and removing items as required
- Operating the University post and despatch function, sorting incoming mail and parcels, collecting outgoing mail and packages and ensuring they are despatched promptly
- Having responsibility for the despatch area, ensuring publication stock is managed effectively and providing an efficient service for requests from prospective students and external organisations
What will you bring to the role?
- Full UK Driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Customer awareness and the ability to remain calm under pressure while providing a high quality service
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures and safe working practices
