Facilities Services Technician III
Position Summary
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a Facilities Services Technician III who will perform skilled maintenance, repair and construction of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures. Responsibilities may include coordinating efforts with contractors; planning for supplies and equipment; installing, maintaining and repairing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment; constructing walls, buildings, cabinets, bookcases or similar items; operating light equipment and performing preventive maintenance; and maintaining records of activities. This position will be primarily on one of our Cabarrus County campuses (South campus in Concord, NC, with some flexibility to assist on our NCRC campus in Kannapolis and our CBTC campus in Concord)
Required Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and five (5) years of experience in facilities maintenance activities.
- Valid NC drivers license

Certifications relevant to the core job responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs general building repairs, fight construction, renovations, and painting; occasionally works as the lead technician over others; works with technicians, contractors, and others as required
- Operates equipment and tools while performing mowing, leaf pickup, digging, landscaping, snow removal, and other duties as assigned
- Assists with estimates; occasionally requisition materials required to make repairs and alterations
- Performs and completes work order as assigned; ensures highest levels of customer service
- Assists with the periodic inspection of buildings; perform preventive maintenance procedures and other duties as assigned.
- Answers complaints; keeps records and submits reports of work completed and in progress
- Keeps records and accounts of inventories of materials and tools
- Participates in assigned tasks and accepts other duties as needed or as assigned
- Participates in college activities such as Emergency Response activity, safety procedures, safety training, and other campus activities
- Ensure compliance with any and all regulations including, but not limited to, the use of personal protection, building codes, emergency egress codes, and OSHA standards
- Successfully participates in training for employees and other maintenance personnel
- Subject to being called into work for critical system repairs, snow/ice removal, or emergency duty; work schedule will be adjusted accordingly
