Facility Operations Assistant 1, Hourly - 2 Positions

Empire State University is seeking candidates for two (2) hourly, seasonal Facility Operations Assistant 1 positions to work in our Saratoga Springs location.

The Facility Operations Assistant 1's will perform a variety of routine unskilled and semiskilled manual tasks related to the operation and maintenance of buildings and facilities, surrounding grounds and vehicles and equipment used in maintaining these sites.

Duties of this position will include the following:

• Perform routine ground keeping tasks such as: mowing, trimming, pruning, mulching and weeding
• Perform transplanting and watering of flowers and shrubs
• Daily inspections of grounds for trash and/or damage
• Replace exterior light bulbs
• Use hand tools to complete ground tasks as required
• Use motorized equipment to complete assigned tasks (riding mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower, etc.)
• Make minor repairs to equipment and hand tools
• Assist with moves, painting, furniture setups, event setups
• Assist with project cleaning

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.

Work Hours:

Temporary, Seasonal (Flexible dates between May 1 - October 31)

Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm (No weekends)

Special Information: Must possess a valid NYS driver's license

Additional Information:

Salary: $17.35 per hour
