Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The CE Adjunct Field Supervision supports the mission of the Educator Preparation Program (EPP) by overseeing, mentoring, and evaluating teacher candidates during their clinical and field-based experiences. This role ensures that candidates effectively integrate pedagogy with classroom practice, meet state and institutional standards, and demonstrate professional competencies required for successful entry into the teaching profession.
CE Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon the needs of the System.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts regular observation visits including a pre- and post-observation conference with the teacher candidate and all relevant stakeholders
- Documents and submits observations by established program deadlines
- Provides constructive and relevant feedback to teacher candidates on classroom observations and overall performance through effective coaching
- Communicates with program staff and System/campus representative(s) on teacher candidates' progress and performance
- Communicates any teacher candidate performance issues to program leadership
- Evaluates students by a variety of means to measure their progress and compliance in field experience and inform them in a timely manner of their progress
- Attends in-service meetings and trainings as required with the EPP and ISD partners
- Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, ISD partners and the community
- Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree and at least 3 years of experience
- Master's degree or higher in education or a related field
- Experience must include at least 3 years of recent documented experience in K-12 classroom teaching
- Valid Texas Classroom Teaching Certificate
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years of K-12 administrative and/or supervisory experience
- Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Field Supervisor Certificate
