The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty member in the department of Art Therapy and Counseling for the graduate program teaching virtual classes in art therapy and/or mental health counseling.

Essential Functions of the position:

• Teach Graduate Level Creative Art Therapy and Counseling Courses.
• Work with program development while maintaining flexibility and collaboration with administration and other programs.
• Participate in student, program, and University assessment efforts.
• Remain active as an Academic professional and seek scholarly/research activity.
• Participate in department, college, and university faculty meetings, as well as committees, convocations, commencement activities and faculty workshops.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Doctorate's Degree in directly related field required.
• At least two years' experience teaching at the university level and curriculum development preferred.
• At least five years' experience as a Licensed mental health provider and/or art therapist in a clinical setting.
• National Certification in Art Therapy; Creative Arts Therapy, or Board-Certification is preferred.

Anticipated Faculty Appointment Date: August 2026

A faculty member is expected to participate in continuous improvement in the areas of teaching, professional development, and service to the University and community. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
