Job Summary

The Design and Media Studies Department at County College of Morris invites applicants for a tenure track appointment in Graphic Design to begin in the Spring 2026. We seek an energetic colleague with a strong professional record and the ability to teach across the curriculum in areas of Graphic Design. This may include Typography, Branding and Marketing Development, Package Design, Publication Design, Web Design, Design Fundamentals, Portfolio Development and Research. Experience and interest in areas of Animation, Motion Graphics, 3D Printing, Augmented Reality and UX/UI are a plus. Certifications related to the field are desirable.

Tasks include but are not limited to: Providing quality instruction for students. Assignments may include day or evening courses. Course delivery may include lecture, lecture/lab, hybrid, and/or online. Duties include teaching undergraduate levels of graphic design across the curriculum in an Associates of Applied Science (AAS) program, curriculum development, advising, and participation in college service. Demonstrate proficiency and be able to teach Adobe Creative Suite software on a Mac platform. Must teach critical thinking and problem solving, as well as contemporary theory and concepts in art and design.

Participating in department and college service, including but not limited to student advisement, revising, and developing courses and curriculum, various administrative tasks, and committee work.

Collaborating with other programs and departments, as well as developing and teaching new interdisciplinary courses.

Exploring innovation, learning, and implementing new methods of instruction and technology.

Qualifications - Education

Master’s degree from an accredited Graphic Design program is preferred along with 2 years higher education experience and 3 years industry experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Graphic Design program along with a minimum of 5 years of higher education teaching experience in Graphic Design and 10 years minimum industry experience will be considered. Candidates currently pursuing graduate degree with expectation of completion within 4 years are also encouraged to apply.

Qualifications - Experience

Teaching experience in graphic design at the collegiate level preferred. An excellent instructor who is student-oriented in their approach and has a proven track record of student success. An ideal candidate will be skilled in generating student engagement in learning. Innovative teaching strategies are required including collaborative learning and the active use of technology. A record of continuous professional development is highly valued. Exhibit an enthusiastic interest in curriculum and instructional improvement through ongoing critical thinking about student learning outcomes in courses and programs. The ideal County College of Morris faculty member will have strong leadership skills and an interest in active participation in department and college-wide activities. Excellent communication skills with students, staff and faculty peers are essential. We are looking for a faculty member who is flexible in their work and adaptable to change.
