Overview
The Department of Medicine at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) is hiring faculty for the division of Infectious Diseases. Applicants with interests in ambulatory and inpatient clinical infectious diseases, teaching medical students and residents, and at all faculty ranks will be considered. There are also opportunities and resources to support clinical, laboratory, and educational research. The division has plans to start an accredited infectious disease fellowship program in the near future.
Responsibilities
Division faculty offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and ambulatory clinical services and educational programs for residents and medical students. Faculty members provide inpatient consultations (with no admissions to Division faculty) at Beacon Kalamazoo Health System and Bronson Health System, in addition to outpatient clinics.
- Broad general infectious disease practice with opportunities to expand clinical services.
- Inpatient ID service provides consultations only, with no direct admissions to the ID service.
- Outpatient clinic at state-of-the-art facilities.
- Shared call rotation with other faculty.
- Ninety to ninety-five percent of time spent on clinical and teaching responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Board certification or board eligibility.
- Completion of Infectious Disease Fellowship.
- Eligibility for Michigan medical license.
- A dedicated commitment to providing a high-quality educational experience for residents and medical students in a clinical setting.
