The Faculty Manager role is part of Divisional Services and Administration, a team of highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering outstanding student and staff experiences. The role | Te mahi

We are seeking a Faculty Manager to join the Faculty of Dentistry in Ōtepoti. This is a senior role leading and managing operations, ensuring all services align with the teaching, learning, research, and strategic goals of the Division.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Faculty to drive strategic operational planning and function as a critical link between the departments and service units. Your leadership will be instrumental in setting high standards and maintaining strong relationships across the University.

You will bring extensive experience in strategic and operational planning, reporting, and workforce analysis, supported by a demonstrated ability to lead complex change at scale. As a forward‑thinking and solutions‑oriented leader, you will apply strong diplomacy and negotiation skills to influence, guide, and align stakeholders. Your leadership will set the tone for a collaborative, high‑performing culture, inspiring teams to deliver consistently high standards across the organisation.

Other key skills:

  • A passion and aptitude for information precision and attention to detail.
  • Technology savvy and an experienced user of Microsoft Windows and Office software.
  • Able to prioritise tasks, manage time and plan to ensure delivery to deadlines.
  • Can exercise sound judgement, decision making, and build productive working relationships.
  • Highly professional manner and strong people skills; courteous, calm, and welcoming.
  • Proven experience in business administration and project management.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position based in Ōtepoti, Dunedin.

The appointment salary range for this role is $115,332 to $129,355, Top of Range $143,378 per annum.

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand to apply for this position.
