SUMMARY
Minimum Salary $46,628.09.
Salary offer commensurate with education and related experience.
This is a Full-Time 12-month/tenure track faculty position, with a start date of January 2027.

Position Summary
Teaches developmental, freshman, and sophomore-level mathematics courses while supporting student engagement, academic success, and instructional excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach and supervise students in assigned mathematics courses using effective instructional methods and technologies. Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments in accordance with College standards. Evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate academic records. Advise and support students and connect them with appropriate College resources. Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement activities. Support student recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives. Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Participate in departmental and institutional meetings and professional development activities. Adhere to Alvin College policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Mathematics or master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics with appropriate graduate-level mathematics coursework, or a master’s degree in Math Education or Developmental Education with at least 18 graduate hours in MATH or STAT. College/university teaching experience and/or experience teaching developmental mathematics. Bilingual – English/Spanish.(Speak)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of effective mathematics instruction and interactive teaching methods. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and instructional technology. Experience with Blackboard or similar learning management systems preferred. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Commitment to student success, continuous improvement, and the College’s core values.

In order to maintain SACSCOC compliance, it is required you upload a copy of your transcripts for ALL degrees conferred. Fingerprinting is a requirement for the local ISD's per Texas Education Agency. Alvin College will reimburse the estimated cost of $50, if applicable.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT The Employer and the Faculty Member are subject to all the provisions of the Interlocal Agreement between the Employer and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The Faculty Member agrees to comply with all policies, procedures, and security regulations of the TDCJ while performing instructional duties within TDCJ facilities. If officials of the TDCJ exercise their contractual right to deny the Faculty Member access to the assigned unit, the Employer may terminate the Faculty Member’s employment and cease salary payments effective immediately.
