Background of the recruitment and description of the project
In September 2025, Faculty of Bioenvironmental Sciences, Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS) began a new educational course to develop international students who can play an active role solving various global issues across life, environmental, agricultural and food science fields worldwide. During its first two years, the program attracted more than 100 international students from approximately 25 countries.
Work content and job description
Department of Environmental and Bioresource Sciences, Faculty of Bioenvironmental Sciences, KUAS is now seeking a qualified faculty member who can give several lectures （some common subjects of the course, and specialized subjects related to environmental science) and basic experimental courses related to environmental science in English in the faculty and the graduate school, as well as supervise graduation research, including industry placement programs for international students. The faculty member also serves as the homeroom teacher for international students and handles faculty duties.
The successful candidate is expected to engage in basic or applied research in fields such as microbial ecology, environmental microbiology, and soil microbiology, with relevance to life, agriculture, and the environment.
